<p>Wow, where has time gone? It has been a rough year for everybody and I know that alot of people are glad to see this year go in hopes of a better year in 2012. It&#8217;s Thanksgiving time and of course we are all ready for the food, family and fun that comes along with Thanksgiving. However, there is something else that brings anticipation to some, we see commercials about it, we hear other people talking about it and then sit back and watch what happens. We all know what I am speaking of&#8230;.the infamous BLACK FRIDAY.</p>
<p>I can say that I have never took part in Black Friday, however I have heard the stories. I have always wondered what it looked like in the parking lot of a mall at 12 midnight when stores are about to open. Well this year I got a first hand look at what it looked like. I was picking my son up from work at a mall theater, I drove into the parking lot and there I was met by headlights of cars pulling up&#8230;some people had already started to form a line outside of the major stores. They had pillows, blankets and books to camp out until the clock struck 12 midnight. I was amazed, almost to the point of slowing down just so I could see. I wondered to myself&#8230;Is this right? Could it be me standing in that line? the more I thought it out, my answer was still the same.</p>
<p>This is year is different for me, in the sense that I have no job and no income coming in and I have two children so I have learned a lesson through the year and that lesson is just to be thankful and love those around you and be grateful for them. I know Santa is the kid in all of us and that is what kids understand. However, due to this economy we are in, it has forced me to see things differently. I have also taught my kids to do the same. It is important that we understand the times that we are living in. There are so many people that are going without right now&#8230;without clothes, without food, without shelter, without jobs that it just make you want to cry. Most of these big businesses that we support on Black Friday are in the same situation that most individuals are. Suprising isn&#8217;t it? Yes, they too are in the red (financially), and has struggled throughout the year just to keep their doors opened. Black Friday is their &#8220;Checkmate&#8221; day. Your money that is spent moves them from one status to the other&#8230;from red (financial loss), back to the black status. We don&#8217;t think about it this way because we as a society are too busy trying to get the deal they promised. Once they have the television home, or the set of kitchen appliances&#8230;that man on the corner is still homeless, that child is still hungry. And the list of agencies that can help has run out of money to even attempt to help them. This is the society in which we live.</p>
<p>For those of us who actually get what this time of year really mean, we are never in the red, as long as we stay in the word and believe in our hearts we will always show a positive balance. I know there are alot of people who wish that they could participate or even get their kids Christmas but don&#8217;t have the funds to do so. It is ok, because what they do have is the love of God and they are closely wrapped in his arms during this time of year. Most people equate Christmas with money and gifts, with some of the gifts being expensive in nature. When Jesus was born and lay in the manger the three wisemen bought gifts to their new born King. Each gift represented something:</p>
<p>Gold: Jesus would be King</p>
<p>Frankincense: An aromatic gum from trees, used in worship</p>
<p>Myrrh: An aromatic resin that would be used to annoint his body</p>
<p>All three of these gifts had a purpose. So while out shopping this year I challenge each of you to purchase gifts with meaning. I challenge each of you to stay in your financial lane, I challenge each of you to stay in God&#8217;s word and strengthen your relationship with God because when you do that you never have to worry about being in the red. God knows our every need.</p>
<p><strong>Matthew 6:31-32<br />
</strong><sup>31</sup>Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?</p>

		<title>A double minded man and his spiritual life</title>

<p>Living in the world as we do today where everything is always moving and evolving one may find it really hard to stay stable. The way  the economy is with so many people loosing jobs and homes people find themselves doing things they themselves said they would never do, which may leave some looking at them in a whole new light. In the Bible the Apostle James warns against being double minded. Being double minded can damage anyone on their spiritual journey in so many ways.</p>
<p><em>James 1:8 states that &#8220;A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.&#8221;</em></p>
<p>Prayer Life:</p>
<p>One of the areas that is damaged is a double minded man&#8217;s prayer life. A double minded man prays with doubt. However going to God with doubt you are shortening your relationship with God. Many get upset with God when they feel as if their prayers have not been answered in the amount of time that was set by them. Which creates a doubt within them. When you go to God you have to be sure of the blessing in which you are asking. Go to him without a doubt that what has been asked has already been answered. Also make sure that what you are asking for is according to his will, also make sure your attitude and the way you live your life is in tune with God, and your intentions and motives are also in tune with God. If you make sure these things are done then there is no way that you will have a double minded prayer life.</p>
<p>Faith without work is dead:</p>
<p>There are some people who attend church, read the scriptures while in church, pay their tithes each and every Sunday, go home and do nothing until the next Sunday when they repeat all the steps again. The thing about God is CONSISTENCY. Your cup overflowed that Sunday so you felt that you did not have to do anything that you would be blessed off of the word that you recieved and that would be enough. The thing is, it is not enough for God. Not only does he want you to hear his word but also DO his work within the world. What good is it if you know of something that could possible save someone&#8217;s life if you don&#8217;t get the word out there?</p>
<p><em>Matthew 7:26-27 states &#8220;</em></p>
<p><em><span style="font-family: Times New Roman">But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.&#8221; </span></em></p>
<p>God&#8217;s word is to be put into action, thus building a strong foundation for you. Doing his work will assure that how you live is not a double minded life.</p>
<p>Purify your heart:</p>
<p>God purifies your heart and with some he does it over and over again. Once God purifies your heart, what you do with your new pure heart is up to you. Some of us feed our hearts with new ways that line up with the will of God. Others gain a new heart only to fill it up with the same old things as before which forces them to ask God for a pure heart all over again.</p>
<p>It is important that our intentions align with the teachings of God. We may start out on something with good intentions but due to the influence of coworkers, friends and family what could and should have been good intentions has now changed. You must stand firm on the foundation of God, his love for you never waivered and yours should not either.</p>
<p>A double minded man does not stand firm in his beliefs. It takes just a tad bit of faith and a whole lot of believing. A double minded man does not really know their purpose they are unsure of themselves which make their spiritual journey one that has no foundation and he is living a very dangerous spiritual life. Be sure of yourself and the direction that you are going, this will ensure a prosperous spiritual life.</p>

<address>Before I explain how you can block your anointing, let me first explain what having the anointing of God is. It is very important that you know that everyone has a purpose for being here. God gave everyone a gift to use during their time here on this earth. To be anointed means the Holy Spirit being smeared upon someone, it is the overflowing life of Jesus which imparts supernatural strength which enables an individual to perform a special task or function in an office they have been called and appointed to do. Acts 10:38 says</address>

<address><em><span style="font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><strong>&#8220;</strong>how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.&#8221; </span></em></address>

<address>As stated above, everyone was born with a special gift, now whether we are operating in this gift is a different story. Most of us are not, we have not realized the gift that God has bestowed upon us. Then there are some people who know that they have a gift but for some reason they find that they just don&#8217;t know how to go about using their gift. In order to know that you have God&#8217;s anointing is to be obedient to his will. This does not come easily, as for some people they do not get to this point in their life until they have gone through something. This is when obedience comes in and they come to a place of being still and can now hear the voice of God. This comes with being obedient to God, and with obedience comes the healing hands of God. God is healing you in order for you to rise and carry out the task that you were meant to carry out.</address>

<address>You will know you have been anointed when you have completely surrendered yourself to God, believe in the word of God, when you have repented of all sin, blockage of the mind, and if you have been baptized in the Holy Spirit. You will find yourself resting in God&#8217;s word and being patient when in the past you were not so patient. You find yourself praying not only for you and your family but for others as well. You are so excited about the things that God is and has done in your life that you find yourself telling everyone you come in contact with. Having the anointing is a feeling that really can not be explained, you will see and feel the difference. God is present in your life and that is a feeling like no other.</address>

<address><span style="font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">You could be called by God to lead, to heal, the gift of prophecy, the gift of discerning of spirits. These are all gifts given by God because of your belief and obedience in him. We receive these gifts because we have opened ourselves up to receive them. However, just like you can be open to receive the gifts that God has in store for us, we can also block our anointing. There are many ways in which you block your anointing. Some are:</span></address>
<ul>
<li>
<address><span style="font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Self Sabotaging thoughts</strong></span>- This could be because of how we were bought up to past relationships that we have been in. It is the blockage of the mind. Your mind could be blocked with thoughts that have been handed down through generations. You rely on what you know and have been taught instead of relying on the word of God.</span></address>
</li>
<li>
<address><span style="font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Sin to Repentance</span></strong>- When you go to God, you have to repent for all of your sins, not just the ones you think are important. Remember you are opening yourself up to receive what God has for you, that means laying it all on the table.</span></address>

<li>
<address><span style="font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>God&#8217;s Word</strong></span>- Ignorance to God&#8217;s word and his promises causes blocks to his anointing. Know that he has made promises.</span></address>

<address>These are just a few of the things that could be blocking your anointing. There are so many more things that could be blocking your anointing. Stay in the word of God, pray for you, your family and to remove any blockages in your anointing that happened generations ago. Once you open yourself up completely then your anointing will be more clear for you to see, and not only you will be able to see your anointing but others will as well.</address>

		<title>Receiving the love of God</title>

We give time, we give love, we give money, we give encouragement, we give ourselves completely to others. We get so bogged down with giving to everyone else that we neglect our own selves. We do not realize that the giving that we do is not always returned, therefore when someone do give to us, we no longer know how to accept it and move on. I am guilty of this as well. I think in our own ways everyone is guilty of it. We get to a point where we give so much that it tires us and when we get fed up we become bitter and our mindsets are as if we are not giving anymore, that’s it because we are tired. What we have to learn to do is be just as receiving as we are giving.</p>
<p>Opening up for some may be something that is easier said than done. It Is not until we have gone through something, rejected, heart beat up and put back together that we look for the love of God. People have hurt, betrayed us and because of life’s experiences we go into protect mode of ourselves, our hearts so we become closed individuals. It is here that we look for the love of God.  You may ask why does it take all of that in order to be able to freely receive the love of God?  It is because it is the world that we live in.  Romans 3:23  says</p>
<p><em>“ For all have sinned (presents all men placed in the same category), and come short of the Glory of God”  (Greek Text infers that even the most Righteous among us continue to come short of the Glory of God on a continuing basis)”</em></p>
<p>Living in a world of sin makes it hard to love each other as God loves us. There are things that we just have no control over.  God  has unconditional love for his children, he does not have any conditions on his love for us. He wishes for us to have the same love for others. If we do this we are then able to receive  the love of God. I know that this is easier said than done because of all that we have gone through and this is the reason why it is important to start within you. Once you learn to love you, then it is easier for you to open up to receive love from anyone else. When I say learn how to love you, I do not mean try to right what others have done to you in the past. When you accept the fact that you need to love yourself, that means that the hurts of the past are just that, in the past. In this phase you will learn to draw closer to God and open up to him. God never stopped loving you and he never left you, even in the bad times. He has been waiting on you to extend your hand so that he could pull you on in. The more you open up to him, the more you will be willing to receive love from not only God but from others. It will be as though it was a new day and more doors will open up to you as a result.</p>
<p>Quiet Time: Take some quiet time out for you. Start a blog or get a journal and write down how you feel. You can even write God a personal letter and express to him your feelings. This helps In the healing process. Journaling or blogging is soothing to the soul and helps better than anyone else’s advice they could give to you. This way you can track where you started and where you are going. Let’s call it your “growth chart.”</p>
<p>Affirmations:  It is important that while starting this journey that you start each day off with an affirmation. Affirmations can be a very powerful tool as it can change your mood and ultimately change your mindset. Your first affirmation could simply be “ I am open to receive the love of God” you would repeat this over and over again, saying it with confidence.  This is every morning before you get your day started. It is always good to repeat throughout your day as well. Before going to bed I always like to say a prayer affirmation.  I found this one in a magazine a while ago and I wrote it down and have been using it every now and then.</p>
<p>“ Today, I opened my heart to receiving more of God’s love in me, letting it penetrate to my very core and every fiber of my being, erasing all impurities, casting out all fear, soothing away every care, and opening my heart to greater trust and dependency. Maybe this is what I’ve been missing all along, the realization that I am loved not for what I can be, but for who I am already. That’s the love I want today and everyday for the rest of my life.”</p>
<p>Once you do these things, you will look at things with a clearer vision and things that you have asked for in the past will now be available to you. I wish you luck on your journey to receiving the love of God.</p>

Can you truly say that all of your faith lies with God? There is a big difference in saying it and actually living it. Many of us speak the words, however our actions speak differently.  Only giving our lives, and the issues we face to God for only a little while and then when we feel things are not working as we would like them to, we retrieve it back from him and attempt to do his job. Think about it, we all have done it a few times or two and I am not saying it is a bad thing, but it is something to really think about. For some of us, it is easy to go to God when the job has gotten us down or when we have to leave some of our friends behind, when we are praying for that new car, or for God to send the man that he has created for us. However, when the storm has blown away and the sun is casting down on you, you stop talking to him, or it may be that things are not working the way you expected for them to, therefore you feel as if it is time to take things into your own hands. What we have to realize is that we are not here to do God’s job. G and God can’t do his job if you do not allow him to. </p>
<p>&#8220;Without faith it is impossible to please God: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is (that God exists), and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.&#8221; Hebrews 11:6<br />
We need to first figure out what trusting God is. Trusting God is placing all your faith in God. Having faith is more than just saying that you have the faith, it is more than walking around giving a positive word to everyone you come into contact with. Trusting God is knowing him because when you know him and you truly know him you will also learn to trust him. </p>
<p>Why trust God<br />
Now that you know what faith is, you have to next understand why you should trust God. You should trust God because he is the only one that can take you away from all the hurt or issues and make it better for you. We walk around worrying, our bodies sick and we fear what may happen next in our lives. We find ourselves stuck in a job that is unhealthy for us and bills are piling higher and higher. This is where trusting God comes in, he knew what you would go through before you and he already has it worked out, he is just waiting on you to put your trust in him so that he can move this storm cloud so that you can see clearly.  One thing that is for certain is that God did not intend for us to carry heavy loads on our shoulders, he wants to lighten the load.<br />
&#8220;Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.&#8221; Matthews 11:28-30<br />
Because of the world we live in we want things that we want right now, we don’t like to wait for it. God does not work on our time, he works on his own time and you will receive when he is ready for you to receive. </p>
<p>How to prepare yourself to trust God</p>
<p>Look back- Take a moment and look back over your life. It should look like you have progressed over time. If you can see the progress then God has indeed blessed you. It may have been recently and you have not taken the time to notice. With every blessing tell God thank you. You have to start thanking God for what you have in order to receive more. If you cannot thank him for the little things how could you thank him for the bigger things that are to come.<br />
God’s promises- Take a notebook and write down what God has promised. You could use this book to refer back to when you start to lose faith.<br />
Give back- When God blesses you, do not keep it to yourself, tell others of the goodness of God. Your testimony might save someone else and lead them to have faith in God. We should always pay it forward.<br />
     These are things that will assist you in starting your faith walk with God. Know that it does not matter what happens in your life, God already knows. God wants you to call on him, if not him then who. Also remember it just takes a mustard seed size of faith, and that mustard seed can move mountains.</p>

		<title>Resolving Conflicts God&#8217;s Way</title>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>No one wants to be the one in the midst of conflict. If you are like me, you try hard to avoid it at all cost. However there are times when avoiding it seems so impossible especially when you don’t always have everyone on the same page. The dictionary defines conflict as an open, often prolonged fighting (www.thefreedictionary.com). If we are trying to have a closer relationship with God, then we as Christians have to know the correct way to handle these situations. Believe me, it can be very easy finding yourself &#8220;loosing your religion&#8221;, not just by the words that you speak but by your thoughts as well. When you find yourself in a conflict and need some help, go to the one person that can help you in any situation. The first thing that you should do is to go to God in prayer and ask him to remove any thoughts that are not of him, as well as request that he creates in you a clean heart. In the bible there are plenty of passages that will assist you in handling conflict the right way. The first passage comes from the book of Matthews (18:15-17).</p>
<p><em>“If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.&#8221;</em></p>
<p>These are great instructions for handling a conflict. It is sometimes very hard to tell someone their faults on a one on one basis. We all know that in order for a conversation to happen it is has to involve two people and sometimes within a conflict it is hard to keep it between two people. However, the above verses simply states how important it is to first talk to the person you are in a conflict with and present your facts. <em>If</em> at that point they do not want to listen <span style="text-decoration: underline;">then and only then</span> should you involve another party in your situation. If you elect to have another person , please make sure that this person is neutral to both sides. The next step is to take your conflict to the church if the battle still has not been resolved. I know most are saying “skip all the other steps and take it straight to God.” By all means pray about it, but always remember that just because your mind is sound and your relationship with God is sealed tight, does not mean that theirs is.</p>
<p><em>“ Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger” (Ephisians 4:31).</em></p>
<p>We are all human, and it we all have the emotion of anger. And just because you have this emotion does not make your relationship with God any less. It is <em>how</em> you direct your anger that is important. Conflicts can be a little petty and you may even find yourself going tic for tat about something that started out so small. It is a must that we do not fall into the trap of going word for word, when you have your facts and have presented them to the other person, that is all that need to be said. Resolving a conflict can become very draining if you allow it to. As we grow with God, we learn to humble ourselves and the little things that did matter, does not matter anymore. We just don’t want to involve ourselves with the negative surroundings. It is also important, if at all possible, to try to resolve the problem by the end of the day. It is not healthy to wake up and start from where you left off the day before. When we lay our heads and hearts to sleep at night, we should awake with a clean slate and start the day anew. God does not want us to live in a state of conflict in our daily lives. Leave the past in the past and move on to a more positive light.</p>
<p>Remember, conflicts are easy to get into and hard sometimes to get out of. When you are on a journey that God has ordered then it won’t be that hard to stay away from negative environments. Don’t do anything you will find yourself repenting for later. When in doubt about whether or not your actions are correct take it straight to the Book that will give you all the instructions you may need &#8211; the Word of God. I have listed below other verses that will help in your walk as well as resolving a conflict.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #808000;">Words to help when in conflict with someone:</span></strong></p>
<p><em>• To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” (Romans 12:20)</em></p>
<p><em>• Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.” (John 7:24)</em></p>
<p><em>• This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. (Joshua 1:8).</em></p>
<p>These words are powerful and should help in any situation. If anyone knows how to help in a situation that isn&#8217;t good, it is God. Make sure that you have that spiritual connection with God as well as make his Word part of your everyday conversation so that you know how to resolve issues God&#8217;s way.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>     When I was asked to write my testimony about how God has blessed me, I thought there is not enough paper, not enough words to speak about the goodness of God and what he has done in my life. I am going to share with you some things that has come out of conversations with God. My mother always had us in church and when we could not make it, we read the bible and while as a child I did not fully understand, I had a love for God like no other. I stayed in church and was very active. However, as many young teens and into early adulthoods, I strayed away from what I was taught over years passed. Proverbs 22:6 states:</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><em><strong>“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”</strong></em></p>
<p>     This verse has a lot of truth in it. A while back after the birth of my son, I became very depressed. His father was not trying to be there for him and I had no money because I was in college and had to rely on my mother and father. I was taking him with me to class so that I could finish what I started. I prayed nightly, even though I did not know how to pray and my faith walk was not that strong. I had a dream one night and in my dream was my mother, we were standing in the front yard and I was pointing upward. Out of the sky came the prettiest golden chariot, in the middle of the chariot was a shield and to the right of the shield was an angel as well as to the left. The shield rolled away and there was a bigger angel who came down from the chariot and told me “Everything was going to be ok.” The angel took its place and the shield rolled back in place and it disappeared. Now when I tell you the feeling that I had when I woke up was unexplainable, I felt different, I felt as if everything was lifted off of me. That was nothing but God who sent his messengers to inform me to stop worrying. After that dream nothing was the same anymore, things in my life started to change, doors started to open and I had a need for more of God and I started placing angels around the house. Only God can bring that type of feeling. This started my walk with God.</p>
<p>     The second dream was once again my mother and I, and we were in the car.  In this dream my mother never said a word. There were people walking in front of my car and on the side. I would stop the car and get out and lay hands on those who surrounded me. The people in the dream I did not know. Every time I stopped the car, my mother would look at me and my face and body would transform. But the people outside the car were not afraid of me at all. This dream felt real, when I awoke I felt like something had come over me. I felt different, as I started searching for answers to my dream in the Bible.</p>
<p>     The third dream was once again with an angel, however this time he was leading me somewhere. I knew where we were but there was a bright light and it seemed we were trying to find it. I kept asking where we were going and he simply replied “ You will know when you arrive.”</p>
<p>     In my search for answers within the Bible and through Pastors, I found the story of Samuel. In the Bible God called Samuel three times and Samuel did not realize it was the voice of God that was calling. He kept going to Eli thinking Eli was calling him because he did not recognize the voice of God. Eli told Samuel to go back to bed. It was on the third call that Eli got his prophetic word from God. My last calling was a dream where I was in a church and there was no pastor. I was sitting in the back and everyone would ask where is the pastor? My sister would look back at me and reply “We are waiting on my sister.” Each time she said it, I would progress to the front of the church. When I finally got to the front, my sister looked at me and said “You are ready now.” And I was fully robed. I look at that as God telling me I had something to say to the masses. One word came to mind and that was Shekinah Glory….I went home and for two days I googled Shekinah Glory and found Naima Williams’ name and read her site for two days, allowed the songs of Shekinah Glory to soothe the soul and now I am writing for the masses. Nothing but the love of God and Him telling me he had me. I get overwhelmed when I think of how this all happened. God has blessed me in abundance and he keeps blessing me.</p>
<p>     These dreams definitely made my relationship with God stronger and it was at these points when God allowed me to see my blessings and to assure me that he is the one that I had to trust. In return for my obedience he said to me “Whatever you need, just ask and it shall be given.” The past couple of months have been hard for me as I got sick in March at the result of a job and I knew I was not supposed to be there but I would not close that door. My God came in and took me out of that dead end, draining job and there were days when I did not know if I was going to make it. I had kids to take care of and a sick mother and sister. Once again I named the car I wanted along with things I needed out of my life. Today, I ride around in the exact same car I asked my father for and it is paid off, and my rent is paid until next year and those small bills that were draining me…PAID!!!! Listen when I think about the goodness of God and what he has done for me…..Nothing but God!!!! And if he never did another thing in my life…HE HAS DONE ENOUGH! Be thankful, thank God for all you have even on days you feel like you are going to lose your mind…Thank him! Amen</p>

<p>Christianity is known as the largest religion in the world. Christians are people who believe in the doctrine of the trinity which is God as father, the son and the Holy Spirit. If you were to ask most people who attend church on a regular basis, read the bible and are actively involved in church activities if they considered themselves as Christians the answer would be a definite &#8220;YES&#8221; even though as a christian all of the above would be great and there would be nothing to worry about because we all would be in a perfect world. However, in a world of reality we have all done somethings that we are not proud of. How many times have you compromised your relationship with God? And now that you look back at that time in your life, was it really worth it?<br />
     To compromise your relationship with God could be anything that in God’s eyes is not bearing good fruit. We are all as Christians held accountable for the things we do in our everyday lives. When we get to a point where a closer walk with God is all we want, when we in our hearts know that God is the beginning and the end, we need to start to purge things out of our everyday lives that are not in his will for us. When I say purge, I don&#8217;t just mean your cell phones. Ask yourself the question: If God walked into my home would he be pleased with what he sees. If you went through your DVD collection would he be pleased to see Videos that contained cursing or nudity? Would he find your bible tucked away neatly on a shelf? If he listened to your Ipod or your child’s Ipod would he find it full of profanity or Gospel? These are just a few things to think about. There are some of us who want the life simply because our backs are up against the wall and it seems as if there is no one there, so we go to the one person who we have been Taught would help, but we are not willing to make the necessary changes. You see everyone else around you being blessed and you wonder when your time will come. Then there is the rest of us who really wants a closer relationship with God and are willing to make the necessary changes in order to get there.<br />
     Compromising your faith is so easy, in fact it is so easy that most of us do it and not even realize that we are compromising our faith walk. It comes so natural that it begins to be a part of our daily routine.</p>
<p><strong><em>(Romans 8:9) it states “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if so be that the spirit of God dwell in you now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”</em></strong></p>
<p>This means that as long as God’s spirit dwells in you, we as Christians do not have to worry about living our life without him, however we should never think that we can compromise our faith and no one will ever find out. Since it is a part of our daily lives and we compromise unknowingly we think that others are not watching us and it will be OK. That is not true because God’s eye is on us every second of the day, and if no one else knows he does.<br />
     We as christians have a voice, we have a say so about the our lives and the world around us. Ask yourself how many times have you saw something you did not agree with? You feel like since no one else is saying anything “oh well”. We are at a convenience store and there just beside the ATM machines is a magazine stand and this stand has X-rated magazines. Although they are covered with plastic, what sort of message is the owner sending? What kind of relationship does he or she have<br />
with God? Yet we sill support them by paying for the gas. Or we are in a restaurant and there are people there using profanity at the other table, we figure that we have nothing to do with it so we say nothing.</p>
<p><strong><em>Exodus 20:7 states that “ Thou shalt not take the name of the lord thy God in vain; for the lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.”</em></strong></p>
<p>We did not say anything when we should have, we should have written a letter expressing our concerns but we chose not to. Because we chose to remain silent, we have compromised our faith once again. We think that biblical principals are too hard to achieve however, when we compromise with evil, guess who wins the fight? The next time you go into an establishment or even your doctor’s office look around you, can you tell that these business persons are on the same journey as you are? The answer is probably no, and they don&#8217;t have to be, but do you have a choice to support them? Yes you do, but supporting them comes with a price. Even though they probably attend church on Sunday, give God his time but it is back to business on Monday. They look at it as if “ Yes, I have made it and I thank God” but it is a silent praise. Compromised! He or she should be leading others to salvation. This is a real successful business man or woman.<br />
     There are so many ways that we including myself can compromise our faith, and it is without even knowing that we have done so. God has no mercy on a compromising christian. He does not want to be or feel betrayed by one of his very own. The next time you want to start purging things out of your life to be closer to God think to yourself: Who am I putting first in my life? Who gives me the direction I should go in? Did I perform any of the commands of Jesus recently? Have you, yourself tried to save at least one person? Purging is not only numbers out of your cell phones, nor is it just getting rid of what people in your past gave you. Take real inventory over your life and lastly, ask yourself “ Is it really worth it to compromise my faith.”</p>

I should know, I am a single mother of two and for a long time I thought that everyone that was around me was out to hurt me in some way, form or fashion. After the birth of my son, I soon learned that his father was not going to be of any help and it would be me that would have to quite school to support him. I jumped from job to job trying to make ends meet. I became angry, I was angry at myself and angry at his father. As a single mother I felt that I had a right to be angry. It seemed like everytime I tried to stand firmly on two feet there would be something there to knock me back down, until I fell and felt like that was where I belonged. I heard things like “ You will never amount to anything”, &#8220;No one will want you&#8221; &#8211; to- “You have had a baby, now what are you going to do with yourself?” I started to believe all of it. With self-esteem shot, I found myself once again pregnant and deeper into depression because he was not my husband, and our relationship was not stable so I ran the chance of bringing another baby into this world that may not know his or her father, it was a chance I had to take. There was no chance of me giving my baby up, or having an abortion; as it went against everything I believed in. I am a true believer that nothing happens without reason. Is this really how I was supposed to live my life? Why was I being punished? How am I ever going to make it? These are questions that I would ask myself as I sat and cried in stolen moments I would have to myself.</p>
<p>One Sunday after church, I came home and flipped my television on and there was a sermon taken from the book of 1 John. It was titled “ Elect Lady”.  The sermon was given by Bishop Eddie Long, and it was if he was speaking directly to me. Suddenly it all began to make sense to me. Just listening to him, everything clicked for me. I was elected for this position of being a single mother and it was something that I had to embrace. God only chooses a select few because not many are strong enough to hold this position. It was only at this point that I understood that once we embrace whatever it is we go through, be it being a single parent, troubles on the job, a broken relationship, or even an illness, we open doors for many other things in our lives. 1 Corinthians 10:13 states that <em>&#8220;There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.&#8221;  </em>He will never give you more than you can bear. He knew that I could handle being a single mother. He knew all that it entailed and knew that I was up to the challenge. Not everyone can do what I do, there are some who think they can, but cannot handle the job that God has prepared me for. And as for my negative cheerleaders Psalms 23:5:</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><em>&#8220;Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.&#8221;</em></p>
<p>My cup continues to runneth over from the blessings of Jesus, for without him I don’t know if I would be clothed in my right mind or able to speak of the goodness of Him. And as long as my faith remains in Him I will remain covered. It took me a long time to figure out that I was angry for no reason at all. If I looked in a mirror my real enemy was starring back at me.</p>

Don&#8217;t ask me about no kids, cause I didn&#8217;t know, see I ain&#8217;t seen my son in a couple days, last time I seen him he was going to a party with some friends. I didn&#8217;t think nothing of it, I just thought while he was gone I would get me some &#8220;Me Time&#8221; with my Boo. (Mr. Right Now). Now today at 1pm we will be viewing his body. I should have  payed more attention to him, made sure he got to school&#8230; See we used to go to church. I just don&#8217;t know what happened.</p>
<p>Too often we find ourselves asking these questions after the fact. The problem is her son did what he wanted to do, when he wanted to do it, and she did what she wanted to do and when she wanted &#8221; Right Now&#8221;. The problem is it came with a price. Proverbs 22:6 says &#8220;Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it.&#8221; This means that no matter how far this child strays he will always return back to what you taught him. A lot of parents take their hands away before it is time leaving the child to raise themselves. Today children are making their own decisions from going to school to making a decision to attend church. We have left the days of old and replaced with them the new traditional ways of giving children more freedom to do whatever they want.<br />
Bottom line is children should not be making adult decisions. We should be making decisions for them. We are here to protect our children from the ways of the world and we should not loose site of that. We should not remove our hands from them before time. Everything around them moves at a fast pace and it is a &#8221; Right Now&#8221; world, a world that they are not ready to conquer just yet.</p>
